Street View sequences rebuilt frame by frame into an endless journey through a world that almost exists.

Tatsu, Infinite Road is an experimental generative video project based on the idea of travelling endlessly through an imaginary world while remaining anchored to the geometry of the real one. It begins with sequences derived from Google Street View: real world images are processed frame by frame through a generative pipeline built with Python, Stable Diffusion, ControlNet and a custom LoRA.

Roads, buildings, and vegetation provide the real, physical structure, while their visual appearance is reconstructed into a softer, colorful and dreamy environment. The transformed frames are assembled at 24 frames per second, producing the sensation of continuous movement through this alternative landscape.

A significant part of the development involved automating source image collection and transformation while creating calibration and correction processes to preserve visual continuity between successive generated frames. The geography exists. The journey exists. The combination probably does not; who knows...
